Located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, the Esquina do Vento Wind Project strengthens Rio Energy\u2019s commitment to expanding Brazil\u2019s renewable energy mix, combining cutting-edge technology, operational efficiency, and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project was developed by Vestas, one of the global leaders in wind energy solutions, and acquired by Rio Energy for construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With an installed capacity of 230 MW, the complex will consist of 51 V163 wind turbines, also supplied by Vestas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it goes into commercial operation, scheduled for 2028, the project will have the potential to generate approximately 1 TWh of energy per year\u2014enough to power roughly 520,000 Brazilian households, making a significant contribution to energy security, the diversification of the electricity mix, and the reduction of carbon emissions in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Technology and efficiency in wind power generation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project incorporates high-performance equipment, backed by a long-term operation and maintenance contract with Vestas itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agreement, covering a period of 30 years<\/strong>, guarantees high levels of availability and efficiency in power generation, ensuring operational predictability and maximizing results throughout the project\u2019s entire lifecycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project progress and regional development<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently in the pre-construction<\/strong> phase, construction is scheduled to begin in May 2026<\/strong>, marking another significant milestone in the project\u2019s advancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to generating clean energy, the Esquina do Vento project also represents an opportunity for regional development, with the potential to boost the local economy during the construction and operation phases.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
